College: Sparks played beach volleyball at Cal State Northridge, where she was 10-10 as a freshman with True McCullough on court three.  As a sophomore Sparks went 13-19 mostly on court one with Lauren Eknoian.  She was 17-13 on court two in her junior season, playing mostly with Mikaela Maughan.  Sparks then transferred to Long Beach State, where she finished with an 8-4 record on courts four and five.

Personal: Sparks comes from a volleyball family as her mother Lena played at Cal Irvine and both of her sisters played beach volleyball.  Her oldest sister Lindsey played at UCLA and then Cal Poly, while her younger sister Dani plays at Cal Poly.
