Miller played at Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania. In his first season he led all Division III players in both kills per set (5.53) and points per set (6.43). He established a new program record with his 498 kills. In the Division II National Tournament Miller set the Division III record with 41 kills. He was named the conference Player of the Year as well as an AVCA Division III All-American.
