College: Perez began his collegiate career at Orange Coast College, spending his first year as a redshirt due to injury. He then transferred to Pepperdine, where he won the starting libero job and ranked fourth in the conference in digs before the season was cut short due to COVID-19. Following that he transferred to The Master's University in Santa Clarita, California.
Personal: Perez has four siblings: Danny, Vanessa, Casey and Amy. In high school his club team won four national championships between 2015 and 2018. He has a cousin, Angelo Aleman, who is striving to reach the MLB.
