Tome's father, Gary, played volleyball for Milwaukee. He has a sister, Chloe, who plays beach volleyball for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, as well as a twin sister, Lilly. In high school he was a three-time team captain and a First Team All-State player. In addition to leading the team in aces he set the school record with 3,014 career assists. Tome plays beach volleyball at Webber International University, where he partnered with Joao Vitor Lima on court three and helped his team to an AVCA Men's Collegiate Beach Volleyball National Runner Up.
