Torsone and Peter Goers tied for seventh in the inaugural beach volleyball competition at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Canada. He later would place fourth in the 1993 Pan Am Games with David Fischer. Torsone was selected as a General Motors’ ‘Team behind the Team’ Olympic Hopeful athlete. He started playing volleyball in 1993 after graduating from Fairport High School in Rochester in 1993. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from Syracuse in 1997 where he was a Dean’s list graduate. Torsone moved to the west coast in order to pursue his “dream” as a pro beach volleyball player. He enjoys sports, music and trading stocks.
